Hummus is one of my favorite dips to make at home since it can be enjoyed alone as a dip or added to sandwiches and wraps as a spread. While you might usually rely on store-bought versions of this dip, these recipes listed below will show you just how quick and easy it is to make hummus from scratch at home. I’ve compiled a list of ten delicious hummus recipes for you today, all of which are simple to make and don’t include tahini in their ingredients.

10 Humus Recipes – Simple To make

1. Easy Hummus without Tahini

This homemade hummus from Creamy Crunchy Sweet is one of the easiest and quickest recipes I’ve seen for hummus. All you have to do is combine a can of chickpeas or garbanzo beans with lemon juice and olive oil for a rich and creamy dish that everyone will enjoy. To finish, you’ll want to season your hummus with salt, pepper, and cumin before serving. You won’t ever want to return to store-bought dips after trying out this dish and seeing just how simple it is to make in your food processor!

2. Sesame Oil Hummus

Sesame oil is a staple ingredient in Asian cooking that adds a delicious hint of flavor to your hummus. It makes for a great alternative to the tahini while also creating a similar consistency to the regular recipe. In just ten minutes, you’ll be able to make enough hummus for eight servings, so this recipe from The Mom 100 is ideal for parties and family gatherings. Before serving, drizzle some olive oil over the top of your hummus, and for a little more flavor, you can add a sprinkle of cayenne or paprika to the dish.

3. Avocado Hummus

Happy Foods Tube shows us how to make this tahini-free recipe that is packed with flavor thanks to the addition of avocado to the dish. In just five minutes, you’ll have a nutritious and flavorful dip that you can spread on bread or enjoy as a dip with fresh vegetables or pita bread. To make things nice and quick in the kitchen, you can buy cooked chickpeas that will save time cooking them yourself. The great thing about hummus is that you can simply add more seasoning, oil, or lemon juice to customize it to your tastes for the perfect serving.

4. Roasted Garlic Hummus

Roasted garlic is the ideal addition to hummus as it adds even more flavor to this dip. This recipe from Sizzling Eats combines chickpeas, spices, olive oil, and roasted garlic for the perfect snack or addition to your party buffet. You’ll start the process by roasting the garlic bulb in the oven, which you’ll want to bake for thirty to forty-five minutes until the top is a deep golden brown and a bit like jelly. It’s the perfect dip for spreading over crusty bread, and you’ll want to return to this recipe over and over again in the future.

5. Pesto Hummus

Combining two of my favorite dips into one recipe, this pesto hummus from The Hidden Veggies makes a vegan-friendly dip that takes just minutes to create. You won’t use any tahini in the dish, but you’ll add plenty of flavor with the pesto. It’s the ideal spread for adding to sandwiches and wraps, or it would go well with pasta for a filling meal. The dish is packed with basil, so if you are a fan of its taste, you are going to love this hummus.

6. Peanut Buttery Hummus

You’ve probably never considered adding peanut butter to your hummus, but you’ll change your mind after trying this peanut-buttery hummus from Serious Eats. Instead of using tahini in the recipe, you’ll replace it with two tablespoons of smooth peanut butter, which preferably will be unsweetened. To serve, you can add some chopped peanuts on top for even more flavor, and a pinch of paprika will finish off the dip nicely.

7. Instant Pot Hummus

The Instant Pot is an excellent cooking tool for making hummus from scratch, and you’ll be impressed by how creamy and delicious your dip is by using this device. You can cook dried chickpeas in the pressure cooker and then make your own hummus completely from scratch. You’ll find this recipe from 365 Days of Slow + Pressure Cooking uses just very basic everyday ingredients that you’ll probably already have in your kitchen. Combining chickpeas, olive oil, garlic, and lemon juice, you’ll have a creamy dip that would be delicious served with fresh vegetables for a healthy snack.

8. Miso Parsley Hummus

Veggie Inspired offers this unique hummus recipe, which combines plenty of miso paste and parsley for a light snack. It’s an oil-free and low-fat recipe that will take you just ten minutes to prepare and would be great served with fresh vegetables or crackers. For the best results, use white miso paste in this dish, as it adds a touch of sweetness and creaminess to your hummus. You’ll also want to make sure you use fresh parsley in the dip, as dried parsley just won’t offer the same results.

9. Edamame Hummus

Edamame is a unique addition to this recipe from The Lemon Bowl, and it makes a great alternative dip for anyone with nut allergies. Combining two protein-rich ingredients makes the ideal combination for a hummus dip that is perfect for adding to your snack rotation. You’ll also add silken tofu into the mix to create a rich and creamy hummus that is best served with carrot sticks.

10. Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

Roasted red pepper hummus is one of the most popular variations on the classic dip. This recipe from Food creates a tahini-free option that is sure to be enjoyed by everyone. and it tastes just like the ones you’ve tried from your local grocery store. You’ll add half a cup of roasted red pepper to this dish, which will add the color and flavor it’s known for.

As you can see, there’s absolutely no need to add tahini to your hummus recipe to enjoy a creamy and flavorful dip. With such a wide variety of different options available to you, you’ll be able to enjoy a healthy and nutritious dip or spread whenever you are craving hummus at home.
