It’ll also keep you nice and busy in the days leading up to Christmas day as you plan your script, acting, and maybe even choreography. It’s a great way to pass the time after Christmas dinner when you all seem to be in a food coma. A few hours will go by like minutes and you’ll certainly laugh a good bit.
Play Games Next To The Tree
Christmas is a tiring day and there’s no doubt about that. It includes cooking food, opening presents and so you can easily make the most of all that hard work by playing a few games next to the tree. This could be board games, puzzles, Christmas I spy, or anything you fancy. If someone’s had a piece of technology for Christmas then you can all have a turn on that and enjoy the time together – after all, that’s what Christmas is all about.

Matching Christmas pajamas are super fun, especially if you have kids and you can all end up matching. When you’re getting everything ready for Christmas dinner – you can’t forget the table. A beautiful tablescape will make it all the more festive and you can easily get the kids to join in for a bit of fun. You could cut some candy canes and make them into some sort of place card stand. Eat a meal on a plane
You may think that this is a random one but a lot of people do spend their Christmases flying out to countries and so they end up eating meals on a plane. A lot of airlines do shut for Christmas so you’ll have to have a look at where’s open but if you fancy a meal on a plane this Christmas day then you could book a holiday and experience just that.
Give a pet present
If you have a pet then you may want to give them Christmas gifts. Believe it or not, quite a few people do this as they want to show their pets some love as well as their kids if they have them. Some may get their dogs a new toy or their cats a new collar – there are loads to choose from if you fancy getting your pet a present so why don’t you visit your nearest pet store and explore what gifts you could get?
Go swimming in the sea
A lot of people also do a polar plunge on Christmas day and either go swimming in the sea or in their pool. It is absolutely freezing but a lot of people will do it to kick start their new year a little bit early. If you fancy this adventure then make sure you dress warm enough as that water is freezing during the winter months – a wetsuit is a great shout for this activity.
Go for a cycle
Another unusual one but after a rest post Christmas dinner, you may fancy a little cycle to connect you to nature, be grateful for what’s around you as well as maybe burning some of those Christmas calories off.
Why don’t you hop out on your bike and have a family cycle? A lot of people also do something like this on Boxing Day so if you don’t fancy it straightaway, it’s a good Boxing Day activity.

You can’t go wrong with a Christmas movie and there are so many to choose from during the Christmas season. Loads come out every year so picking one could be a great idea for the evening. Why not put on a classic like Elf or an oldie like White Christmas? You may have some family favorites and so it’s a great opportunity to have some family time whilst enjoying a good Christmas movie.
Call your family
Christmas is a day for family for lots of people and so if you can’t be together this Christmas, why don’t you call them and have a good chat with them. You may want to thank them for gifts, ask them what they got or just spend some quality time chatting away together.

This is a great one to do at home especially if you have kids. You can get them to design their own little thank you cards and help them to write them to all the people who got them gifts over the Christmas period. People love receiving handmade cards so making these could really make some people’s Christmas period.
Cookies are a Christmas tradition so why don’t you make some of these? As long as you have all the ingredients, you could make a batch of cookies to enjoy later on in the day. You could even use them for Santa if you make them before Christmas day. It’s good fun and a great idea to do at home.

Making a gingerbread house is a Christmas classic and you can choose lots of different sweets and chocolate to go on top of it. Sometimes all you have to do is dance dance dance. Why not put on some funky Christmas music and all just dance together with no shame? You could even do this in your matching pajamas or your ugly Christmas sweaters – the choice is yours.

Acts of kindness are also a great thing to do together as a family during this Christmas. This could be anything from helping clean up the table or going out to give some of the homeless some gifts.
