One of the best towns for family-friendly attractions has to be Pigeon Forge, TN. No matter what day of the week it is or what time of the year, there is literally always something going on or fun activities to attend!
Our family of four recently spent an extended weekend in Pigeon Forge, TN and our minds are still reeling from everything that we did. From the moment that we arrived to the moment that we left, there was literally never a dull moment. We went on this trip looking for excitement and adventure and we found that and so much more! We’re still talking about the family memories that we made and don’t see that stopping anytime soon.
If you’re looking for a true town that takes it family-friendly attractions seriously, Pigeon Forge, TN is the place to be. No matter where we were, there was always something fun and exciting to do!
This list could probably go on forever, but I’ve narrowed it down to some of the coolest and most family-friendly activities that should be bumped up on your priority list of things to see and do!
1. Great Smoky Mountain Ferris Wheel
Even though you have a view of it from the Margaritaville Hotel at night, you still need to head over and go for a ride as well. The skyline of Pigeon Forge is truly breathtaking and it’s one of those things that you have to see to believe.

3. Wonderworks
Calling all science lovers and those who are naturally curious! The inside of Wonderworks is just as wacky and wild as the name suggests. There are so many things to discover, experiments to see and obstacles to climb that it’s easy to spend several hours just roaming and exploring.
If you have children, plan on allotting at least 2 hours at a minimum to seeing and exploring Wonderworks.
4. Titanic Museum
Exploring a piece of history together as a family is a great way to talk and bond. The Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge, TN offers a glimpse at what life was like during the sinking of the great Titanic. The museum is beautifully done and offers rare glimpses at artifacts and information about passengers that were actually aboard the Titanic.

7. Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Show
If you’re looking for the best dinner theater in the Great Smoky Mountains, this is it. Arrive early and hungry and be prepared to laugh until your sides hurt. The show is seriously funny and the food served is delicious. Did I mention that it’s family style comfort food? So that means one thing…and one thing only. Fried Chicken!
You don’t want to miss out on this amazing meal and show!

9. Shopping in Pigeon Forge
Get ready to shop until you drop! You can literally walk out your Margaritaville Hotel room and be in shops and stores within minutes. We *might* have explored the shopping a lot, but it was for research purposes after all.
There’s nothing wrong with picking up a new pair of boots to wear at the Pigeon Forge Factory Outlet Mall.
Shopping at Old Mill is also a great way to be among the locals and supporting those tourist dollars!

Margaritaville Island Hotel
There are plenty of options when it comes to accommodations in Pigeon Forge, but without a doubt, staying at the Margaritaville Island Hotel needs to happen. It’s brand new and located in a situation that is certain to please. We literally walked out our front door and had so much to do!
Plus, when those hunger pains kicked in from traveling all day, we were able to literally have an amazing dinner right there at the hotel at the Margaritaville Restaurant.
