Here are 15 fun things to do in Miami even if you have kids along.

#1 – Zoo Miami

Zoo Miami is one of the biggest zoos in the United States, and it’s no surprise that children love it. It’s 750 acres and has over 3,000 different species. Kids will get to see animals like hippos, vipers, gorillas, lions, and elephants. It’s a cage-free zoo, meaning that the animals have bigger habitats that are separated by moats rather than bars. So, kids will get to see a wide variety of animals that are well cared for. The zoo also has other kid-friendly activities, such as playgrounds and splash pads.

#2 – Miami Children’s Museum

Of course, what family adventure would be complete without a children’s museum? It has a wide range of interactive exhibits, including a pretend shopping center, a cruise ship, and a strength test. Each exhibit teaches kids topics like money, science, and health while presenting it in a fun way. This is one of the best things to do in Miami with kids on a hot day because it’s inside and air conditioned.

#3 – Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science

This museum is another great indoor attraction for a sweltering day. Like the children’s museum, it has interactive exhibits that teach you things in a unique way. But this attraction focuses specifically on science topics. Some exhibits include the engineering lab, where visitors can learn how things are built, and the “MeLab” where kids can learn about health and the human body. But it isn’t just for kids, parents can enjoy many of the exciting attractions too, such as the planetarium and the aquarium.

#4 – Seaquarium

The Seaquarium is an opportunity for families to see and interact with aquatic creatures. You can swim with dolphins, get up close to penguins, or sit in the splash zone at a show. You’ll also see other animals like manatees, flamingos, and sea turtles. If your kids have a fascination for animals and don’t mind getting a little wet, the Seaquarium is an exciting event for all ages.

#5 – Venetian Pool

Sure, your family can probably go swimming at your hotel’s pool, but that won’t give you the full Miami experience. The Venetian Pool is one of the most beautiful pools you’ll encounter. It’s surrounded by waterfalls and tropical foliage, making it one of the most gorgeous spots to relax or swim. It has shallow areas for young visitors, and it has plenty of snacks so you don’t have to pack your own food. Yet, you can expect this pool to be quite busy on a hot summer day.

#6 – Thriller Miami Speedboat Adventures

Some kids might prefer relaxing activities, but others crave adventure. These thrilling speedboat tours are one of the best things to do in Miami with kids. The tours last between 45 and 75 minutes, and you’ll get to see lots of breathtaking views, including the South Beach, Fischer Island, and the Cape Florida Lighthouse. Any kids over 3 years old can come along.

#7 – Flamingo Park

Flamingo Park was essentially made for kids! It’s a 36-acre park that’s full of swimming pools, playgrounds, and sports stadiums. It has everything that young visitors could dream of. It even has an 8-lap pool, climbing walls, and a dog park. So, no matter who you’re traveling with, you’re sure to have a blast.

#8 – Sawgrass Recreation Park

The Sawgrass Recreation Park is the best way to see the Everglades with your young ones. With admission, you’ll get a 30-minute airboat tour through the Everglades, which is a favorite for many Florida tourists. You’ll also get to visit three exhibit areas, where you’ll witness animals like alligators, turtles, and iguanas. Many kids also love to hold the baby alligators during their visit. And if you’d like, you can even schedule a special airboat tour that takes place at night.

#9 – FunDimension

FunDimension is a kid’s paradise. It’s a 15,000-square-foot attraction that’s full of fun activities like arcade games, laser tag, bumper cars, and a 7D theater. Your kids could spend all day there if they really wanted. Plus, there’s alcohol and coffee available for the parents visiting. If you’re planning to visit Miami for a while, you can also enroll your kids in fitness classes or day camps.

#10 – Jungle Island

Jungle Island is another excellent attraction for animal lovers. It’s an 18-acre zoological park that allows you to get up close to some of the animals. You’ll see animals like lemurs, orangutans, and kangaroos. There’s even a petting zoo, playground, private beach, and small waterpark for kids to enjoy. So, it has the ideal variety of things to do, and your whole family will find something exciting.

#11 – The Wynwood Walls

The Wynwood Arts District is a free outdoor art space. It has a large collection of vibrant murals that you can’t miss. The artwork makes great photo opportunities for the family, and there’s lots of nearby green space for kids to run around in. The art is also surrounded by many popular dining and shopping options, so it’s convenient for your vacation plans. Also, these murals will teach your kids to appreciate art in a fun and colorful way.

#12 – Vizcaya Museum and Gardens

This attraction is more geared toward adults, but kids can still enjoy the beautiful scenery. This attraction has 10 acres of fairy tale style gardens and architecture, so it’s sure to captivate all ages. You can explore it on your own or take a tour to learn more about the structure’s history. It was the former estate of businessman James Deering, but today it’s one of Florida’s most popular attractions. Take a break from the action-packed kid activities so you can enjoy something beautiful for yourself.

#13 – Monkey Jungle

The Monkey Jungle is another one of the best things to do in Miami with kids, especially if they love animals. It’s a five-acre park full of primates that has a twist. Instead of the monkeys being in cages, the humans are! You will walk along a caged path while the animals roam free in a beautiful habitat. There are a few spots where you can even feed the monkeys, and guided tours of the facility are available.

#14 – Oleta River State Park

The Oleta River State Park is Florida’s largest urban park. It offers a wide range of activities for all ages, including mountain biking, kayaking, and canoeing. It also has 1,200 feet of sandy beaches, which have calm water perfect for swimming. Many families even choose to go camping during their stay. If you can’t get enough of the beautiful Miami weather, then this is an excellent outdoor attraction to check out.

#15 – Key Biscayne

Key Biscayne is another attraction that allows you to enjoy the outdoors. It’s a beautiful beach that stretches for two miles. It’s a great place to relax on the beach while your kids enjoy the water. Nearby, you’ll also find other fun attractions, such as a carousel and roller rink. It’s also very close to the Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, which has lots of exciting hiking and biking trails.

Are you ready for an unforgettable Florida vacation? Then consider trying some of these things to do in Miami with kids! Kids don’t have to make your trips harder, but instead, they can make them more exciting. So, instead of finding a sitter for the week, let them experience these fun adventures too. Miami is the perfect destination for the entire family to soak up the sun.
