How many times have you wished that there were more than 24 hours in a day? As a mom, it seems like there is never enough time in the day or week to get everything done. I know in my daily life, not only do I ensure that my kids are active, happy and healthy, but I try to do the same for myself and my body as well. Being a busy mom means that I live a very active lifestyle. Somedays, everything that I do is for somebody else, and while I love being able to help and care for my family, I also know that it’s important to step back at times and focus on me.

Every day, you need to make certain that you are treating yourself and your body the best possible way. Your health is important and should never be put on the back burner!

  • Take a social media break and enjoy nature. 

Fall weather is breathtaking. However, if you are sitting behind your computer all day long or staring endless hours into your phone screen, that beautiful Fall scenery will be over quickly before you even have time to enjoy it! Step outside and enjoy the crisp air and make time to view the leaves changing colors right in front of your eyes. Take a walk or a jog. Nature has an amazing way of clearing your mind, heart, and soul.

  • Find a local gym that you can join.

Joining a gym is a great idea for so many different reasons! Not only are you exercising your body, but you are doing something just for you! (As a matter of fact, I just joined a local gym and I’m loving it!) Every day, you get to make a conscious effort to walk through those gym doors and give it your all. Some days, you may decide to make it a hard-core workout day, and others, you may just want to put in the earphones and relax in the sauna. Do what works for you! Your newly acquired gym membership is like your own private getaway.

  • Say no to the Halloween candy that your children may tempt you with. 

Even though Halloween may be a little ways out, it’s important to lay off the candy. It’s hard but totally possible. Snacking on candy seems to create a downward spiral that goes on, and on, and on…Begin to prep your brain now that you don’t need the candy and leave the treats alone. One tip to stop those candy cravings? Don’t buy your Halloween candy too early. Having it just sit around the house is the perfect way to snack and that means empty calories for you and your family.   • Fuel your body with healthier food and drink options.

You may think that you can run on caffeine all day, but eventually, your body needs nourishment. Leave the prepacked food at home and resist pulling into those drive-thru food chains trying to seek out some sort of food. Instead, do what I do and head to Tropical Smoothie Cafe.
