Luciana Vega: 2018 Girl of the Year 

Having two girls, who are growing up ever-so-quickly, you better believe that American Girl dolls are a part of our lives. You have seen us feature several American Girl dolls on the blog. With that being said, I’m excited to tell you all about Luciana Vega, who was named the 2018 Girl of the Year. 

What I love most about Luciana Vega is that she has big dreams. In fact, she’s an 11 year old who dreams about being the first person on Mars. How is that for a big dream? I love her because she encourages my girls to dream big! In fact, American Girl even worked with NASA to help ensure Luciana’s story was accurate and authentic.

Technology is changing the world and Luciana Vega is at the forefront of that technology. She is showing girls that learning is a great tool! Being a girl in 2018 is a wonderful thing, Luciana is breaking down barriers in the STEM world. She’s focused on having a strong character, collaboration, and STEM literacy, she’s a very smart girl!

To moms of girls everywhere, Luciana Vega is a dream come true! She’s teaching our girls that science is FUN and that girls can dive into technology and STEM. I’m super excited about the events that American Girl is putting on for Luciana Vega and we will be attending at least one, close to us.
