It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving has already come and gone this year. This was one of the best Thanksgivings I can remember. Eating turkey and the trimmings were nice, but it was my family that I enjoyed being around the most. This year, we got together with friends and family and made new memories.
Every year my family likes to talk about what we are thankful for. Now that my kids are getting older, I love hearing their responses. They think about what they are going to say and it comes out so beautifully. I’m not going to lie, I cried a few times that day.
I decided to take our thankfulness a little further this year. I handed everyone a little feather and on that feather, they wrote what they were thankful for. Hearing and reading what everyone was thankful for just melted my heart.
I even made one too. Here’s what I wrote:
I am thankful for my spouse, my kids and my grandkids. My life wouldn’t be complete without all of them.
I am thankful for my mom and my grandmother. They helped raise me to be the woman I am today.
I am thankful for my health. I am trying to make better choices today than I did yesterday.
I am thankful for my home. It is a place of comfort that I look forward to coming to everyday.
I am thankful for my friends who stand by me when things are tough. They make me laugh when I am having a bad day.
My life is not perfect, but I am thankful for all that I have which is all I ever need.
Check out these little thankful turkeys my kids made this past week! You can use these out of recycled Juicy Juice boxes. Feel free to print out this printable turkey template too. Aren’t they perfect? I plan on displaying these for a while this year and then getting them back out next year. I love the idea of being thankful and displaying our thankfulness.
I think it’s so easy to forget what we are thankful for. However, little crafts like this help us to remember. This little craft is going to be a keeper in our family. I look forward to the years ahead of sharing memories and what we are thankful for.

We had a great Thanksgiving with family. I was thankful that we got to spend time with some other people that we normally do not see on the holidays.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the world of having the lastest and greatest. Sometimes we forget just how little we need to truly be happy.
This is a great way to get the kids involved too.
