You’ll find lots of family resorts along the Pocono Mountains, also known simply as the Poconos. This Pennsylvania mountain range is perfect for exploring nature and having a fun family getaway.

As much as you’ll love the other activities nearby, you also need to make sure you have an exciting resort to retreat to at the end of the day.

So, here are nine of the best Poconos family resorts to make your trip as perfect as possible.

#1 – Woodloch Resort

Woodloch Pines is an all-inclusive resort that has been pampering guests since 1958. It’s a favorite option for families with children because it has a long list of fun activities, which only continues to grow. At this resort, you’ll find a petting zoo, several pools, kayaking supplies, water-skiing, scavenger hunts, paintball, several playgrounds, golf courses, a spa, climbing walls, bumper cars, ice skating, snow tubing, and much more. Thus, there’s no shortage of activities for all ages to enjoy. The suites are spacious with multiple rooms, and there are plenty of dining options to choose from.

#2 – Skytop Lodge

Skytop Lodge is a traditional, all-inclusive mountain resort. It’s a little older than the Woodloch Resort since it first opened in 1928. It has 5,500 acres of grounds to host activities for all ages. Some activities at this resort include pools, kayaking, archery, horseback riding, golf courses, paintball, ziplining, rock climbing, canoeing, tennis, skiing, hiking, and paddle boarding. If families want more space, they can stay in a lodge, inn, or cottage, some of which have a washer and dryer in the unit. On-site, there are three major dining options, a tap room, and a tea room.

#3 – Camelback Lodge and Indoor Waterpark

Camelback Lodge is one of the best Poconos family resorts because it has a massive indoor water park for the kids, and it has great hospitality. This newer resort opened in 2015, and it was built with plenty of family-friendly activities. During your stay, you can enjoy laser tag, rock climbing, arcade games, skiing, snowboarding, ziplining, an escape room, mini golf, and of course, swimming! It has 450 spacious suites, which include fireplaces and full kitchens. If you’re traveling with your extended family, there are some rooms that can accommodate up to 14 people.

#4 – Great Wolf Lodge Poconos

Great Wolf Lodge is another hotel chain that’s known for its massive water parks. Of course, the Poconos location is just as impressive. The water park has 84-degree water all year, and it has several thrilling water slides. When you’re not swimming, your family can enjoy activities like an arcade, shows, a miniature golf course, a ropes course, bowling alleys, and several spas. There are six restaurants at the resort, so you won’t have to leave to grab a bite to eat.

#5 – Bushkill Inn and Conference Center

Bushkill Inn is another newer resort option, which opened in 2012. All their standard rooms can accommodate small families, but you can also upgrade to ones suitable for larger groups. It doesn’t have as many activities as some of the above resorts, but it still has an indoor and and outdoor pool. So, kids can spend their whole vacation swimming if they’d like. There are also plenty of sports amenities, including basketball, tennis, and volleyball. The resort even hosts family movie nights and ice cream socials. Plus, there are two restaurants and a spa on-site.

#6 – Kalahari Resort Poconos

Like the Great Wolf Lodge, the Kalahari is another chain known for giant water parks. This location was built in 2015, and water park admission is free for all guests. The water park is full of many fun activities, including several slides, a few pool areas, and a surfing simulator. Some activities outside of the pool include scavenger hunts, a mini golf course, storytelling, finger painting, a spa, and a salon. The resort has seven restaurants to choose from, and there are suites that can accommodate up to 12 guests! So, no matter how many people you invite, there will be fun for everyone.

#7 – Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort

The Shawnee Inn is the perfect location if you’re looking to go skiing on the nearby Shawnee Mountains. The resort has trains that can take you to the ski hill, along with ski classes for younger visitors. The rooms there are simple, but still comfortable and spacious. Some activities at this resort include a 27-hole golf course, a spa, archery, kayaking, tubing, and hiking. You’ll also find an on-site restaurant and an on-site pub. This is the best option if you’re traveling with older kids who love to spend their time outdoors, regardless of the season.

#8 – Split Rock Resort and Golf Club

The Split Rock Resort is located along 1,200 acres of Lake Harmony’s shore. So, it has beautiful views for reasonable prices. Kids will love the many activities it has to offer, such as the indoor water park with a wave pool and slides, a movie theater, and a bowling alley. For families who want to spend time outside, there’s also access to activities like kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. The resort has multiple dining options, along with a 27-hole golf course for the parents to enjoy.

#9 – Pocono Manor Inn

The Pocono Manor is a great place to stay if you’re hoping to feel glamorous. It’s situated on about 7,000 acres of land. Plus, it’s within 30 miles of all the popular Poconos attractions, such as ski hills, water parks, and state parks. In addition to on-site restaurants, guests can also enjoy activities like a movie theater, golf courses, a pool, a spa, tennis courts, horseback riding, and a game room. It has more opportunities for parents to relax while kids can still enjoy an eventful trip. Yet, this resort might be better suited for older kids.

Have you been dying to take your family on a trip to Pennsylvania to see the Pocono Mountains? If so, choosing family resorts is one of the most important parts of any Poconos vacation. Any of these nine destinations will be ideal for the whole family. So, which one seems like the best fit for you and your travel companions?
