Instant Pot Biscuits and Gravy is a hearty and comforting breakfast. The recipe is a Southern classic combining homemade biscuits with a creamy, sausage gravy, made easier than ever with the convenience of your instant pot.
Biscuit Ingredients:
(this recipe can easily be doubled)
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 1/3 cup buttermilk
- 4 tablespoons butter
Sausage Gravy Ingredients:
- 1 lb sausage
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Homemade Biscuits Instructions:
1. Begin by preheating the oven to 450 and line a baking sheet with parchment paper, for your homemade biscuits.
2. In a small bowl add flour and butter. Using a pastry blender, cut in the butter until it’s blended well.
3. Next, pour in milk and stir well.
4. Drop dough onto a floured surface and knead 5-6 times until no longer sticky. Then press the dough into a 1/2″ rectangle.
5. Cut the dough with a 2.5″ biscuit cutter and place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet.
6. Bake the biscuits for 7-10 minutes or until brown. Set aside.
7. After the biscuits are baked, use the Instant Pot to create the gravy.
Sausage Gravy Instructions:
8. Turn the instant pot on to sautee and add the sausage. Cook the sausage until browned. Once the sausage is browned, add the salt and pepper for taste and mix well to season the sausage.
9. Next, pour in the milk and sprinkle flour on the mixture. Make sure to mix well.
10. Then place the lid on the instant pot and seal. Close the vent.
11. Set to low pressure for two minutes.
12. When done, release the pressure and stir the gravy. Serve with biscuits sliced in half.
