Who doesn’t want to gather up a group of their best girlfriends and have a night out on the town? What comes to mind when you think about having a fun girls’ night out? Laughter, food, wine, shopping, exploring? Yes to all, right? This is why you need to consider Sandy Springs the next time you plan some downtime with your girls.

Visit Sandy Springs

What I love about this city is that it is just a short drive from Atlanta and conveniently located off the North I-285 Perimeter. Sandy Springs gives the option to experience fine dining and fun, art and culture, and the great outdoors, without the hustle and bustle of a big city. In fact, Sandy Springs has over 950 acres of parks and natural areas that you could walk around and explore.

Itinerary

If you’re in the Sandy Springs area and looking for a fun girls’ night out, I have the perfect itinerary planned out just for you ladies!

We went to three different spots.

  • First stop was an incredible tour of Calyroad Creamery where we enjoyed some wine and cheese sampling.
  • Second stop was at The Select Restaurant & Bar where we enjoyed some delicious cocktails and dinner
  • Finally, we explored our creativity and our artistic sides at Painting With a Twist.

We found it all in Sandy Springs. I could not think of a better place to plan a girl’s night out and chat, eat, and sip our way through this great city!

CalyRoad Creamery

Start off your night (or day) at the CalyRoad Creamery and make certain to partake in the sampling of wine and artisan cheese. There are so many options to choose from here, from cheese-making classes, wine and cheese tasting, and a tour of their great creamery!

While enjoying our freshly prepared cheese and fruit platter, we also sampled some tasty wine called One Hope Wine. It paired very nicely with the variety of cheeses offered.

History of CalyRoad Creamery

This creamery was founded by two sisters, Cathy and Robin, and was established in 2009. They originally started out at a 16-acre goat dairy in West Georgia but later moved the creamery to Sandy Springs. It’s one of the first micro-creameries for artisan cheese in Georgia. We had the pleasure of taking a behind-the-scenes tour and learned how they perfected the taste of their cheeses like fine art.

Here is a fun fact. Did you know that cheese has to age for at least three months before you can enjoy it?

What a unique opportunity and fun time with the girlfriends. I can’t recommend this place enough. Wine Tastings are regularly scheduled from 5:30pm-7:30pm, $20.00 per person, Thursday nights.

Location:

225 Hilderbrand Dr, Sandy Springs, GA 30328

The Select Restaurant & Bar

After you’ve jump started your appetite with wine and cheese, it’s time to head over to The Select and grab a bite to eat.

One of the first things that you’ll notice is that this restaurant is exquisite. Every little detail is taken care of and the decor and ambiance are very elegant. This restaurant was inspired by the era of the 1920’s and from the Parisian restaurant, Le Select, made famous by Ernest Hemingway.

It’s known for its delicious cuisine and stunning architecture throughout and it’s only a couple of blocks away from The CalyRoad Creamery mentioned above.

Start out the evening here with some out of their famous cocktails.

During my time there, I dined on the Faroe Island Salmon and one of my favorite girlfriends had the Miso Sea Bass, both absolutely tasteful! We also shared an appetizer of Duck Meatballs and Shrimp Cocktails.

Painting with a Twist

To end the evening, I highly recommend stopping at Painting with a Twist. The ambiance here is so much fun and who doesn’t love the idea of being able to create their very own canvas painting?

Owner, Mia Amodio – Painting With a Twist in Sandy Springs

The owner, Mia Amodio, does a great job creating an inviting atmosphere that allows for fun and creativity, both. We had Rosa as our painting instructor and she was extremely talented.

It’s a BYOB paint and sip art studio so that means if you want to bring in your own wine, you totally can!

We had such a blast sitting around together, creating and talking the whole time. Allow for at least 2-hours to fully immerse yourself in the creative world of canvas painting.

At the end of the night, we got to take our beautiful creations home with us as well! We were very proud of our artwork and wasn’t as hard as it might seem.
