Aviva by Kameel Restaurant in Atlanta
In our household, we’re committed to trying to eat local foods as much as possible. While we love to eat local and farm-fresh foods at home, it’s just as fun to go out and be spoiled and have someone else to do the cooking for you. We were recently invited to a delicious local restaurant in Atlanta called Aviva by Kameel.
The chef and owner is Kameel Srouji and his vision on how he takes local ingredients and brings them to fruition into spectacular dishes is truly amazing (and a big thanks to Walmart for supplying fresh produce directly from local farmers)!
Chef Kameel was awe-inspiring and we loved listening to the stories he shared about his childhood, and how he always watched his mother cook when he was a child. He had a lot of admirers too, with a line wrapped outside the door and around the restaurant.
We sampled so many dishes, oh my!
To say my taste buds were happy is an absolute understatement. Every single bite that I ate, I thoroughly enjoyed…so much so that I was inspired to create a recipe using fresh produce from Walmart.
As Kameel would say, “In the Mediterranean, cooking is more than a job, it’s an art form.”
Since Mediterranean cuisine is zesty, full of color and flavors, and made with plenty of fresh vegetables, I thought this delicious Mediterranean Inspired Zucchini Pasta Noodle dish would be perfect.
I hope this recipe lives up to Chef Kameel’s delicious dishes!
“Rediscovering America” Mission
What I love most about the “Rediscovering America” program is that Walmart is committed to supporting local farmers. This is such a great way to keep the money local for our hard-working farmers as well as provide our families with food that is grown right in our own home state.
I just love the fact that they’re showing their support this way to the local farmers and community as it’s really a win-win for all involved.
The fact that I’m able to head to Walmart and rest easy knowing that I’m buying local food that’s supporting local farmers while feeding my family healthy, fresh produce is amazing.
ranean Zucchini Pasta Noodles Dish
After eating at Aviva, I was challenged to create a meal using some of the fresh, local produce that Walmart has to offer. My shopping list included red cabbage, organic zucchini, and organic Vidalia sweet onions from Walmart, which inspired me to make this tasty Mediterranean-inspired dish. You can also order your ingredients online to be ready for curbside pickup at your local store.

Once you take a look and really break down all the fresh produce and ingredients of this recipe, it’s so awesome to see all the local farmer’s hard work in creating delicious vegetables that in turn, created an amazing dish to feed my family.
The next time that you’re shopping for fresh produce, remember the support and commitment that Walmart has made to help “Rediscover America.” Having a company show their support to farmers all over the state can be a true game-changer in how we feed ourselves, our families, and America as well.
