Homemade Banana Pudding
Ingredients
3/4
cup
sugar
3
tablespoons
cornstarch
3
cups
milk
4
egg yolks, beaten
2
teaspoons
vanilla
2
bananas, sliced and cut into quarters
vanilla wafer cookies
whipped cream (optional)
Instructions
Add sugar and cornstarch to a saucepan and mix well
Stir in milk and heat over medium-low heat until thick and bubbly, stirring if not constantly than very frequently
Remove from heat and stir in eggs
Return to oven and heat until you have a gentle boil. Reduce heat to low and continue to heat for 2 minutes
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla
Pour into a glass bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let set to cool before refrigerating for 4-6 hours or overnight
When pudding is cool, mix in chopped bananas
Place wafer cookies into small trifle bowls and spoon pudding on top
Add 1 crushed cookie to each serving and top with whipped cream
