Verizon Amphitheatre Upcoming Shows in Alpharetta, Georga

Rain, wind, and cold weather didn’t dampen the mood or the music at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre Friday night in Alpharetta. Chris Stapleton took the stage in the first of two sold-out shows this weekend. Chris and his wife Morgane, who sings alongside him most of the show, have had a whirlwind year since their last Atlanta appearance in a post-game concert after the Braves game last summer.

Friday was also the release day for his brand new album “From A Room Volume 1” which he sang about half of the songs off of during the show. He also sang favorites from his previous album “Traveller” and even a song from back in the day when he was with The Steel Drivers.

Even though he is in the spotlight now, he still presents himself as a very humble artist and even commented that he was grateful to everyone that came out in the cold weather to hear him play. One of the highlights from the show is when his wife Morgane sang a beautiful rendition of the lullaby “You Are My Sunshine.”

Alpharetta’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre is my favorite outdoor venue and is easily accessible from anywhere in metro Atlanta. One of the biggest perks is the free parking but if you choose not to take advantage of that Uber and Lyft are convenient options as well. There is a designated pick-up and drop off for car services right outside of the gate which is especially helpful when the weather is not cooperative. There really isn’t a bad seat in the entire amphitheatre. For this particular concert, all of the seating between the stage and the boxes were removed for general admission/standing room only. There is assigned seating that is covered as well as lawn seating that is uncovered. You are allowed to bring in low beach type chairs for the lawn or you can rent chairs at the venue for $5. There are restrooms conveniently located on both sides of the venue as well as beverage and food options.

Luckily there were souvenir booths as well and I was able to buy a Chris Stapleton hoodie to keep warm. This was a great show to kick off the “concert season” and I’m looking forward to many more shows this spring and summer.
