I love the holidays. While I love the thought of eating great food, snuggling around the fireplace, or just taking a stroll to look at all the neighborhood lights, what I love most about the holiday season is all the great holiday events that the city hosts.
While it was hard for me to narrow down some of my favorites, I’ve put together a great list of holiday events to enjoy in Sandy Springs!
These events will give you just a tiny sneak peek into all the holiday happiness that Sandy Springs has to offer. They’ll welcome you with open arms to join in on all the fun!
1. Santa’s Fantastical
Calling all art enthusiasts, Santa’s Fantastical is where you need to be! From mid-November through early January, you and your loved ones can take a stroll through this whimsical indoor wonderland. Create some ‘fantastical’ memories with this magical holiday event.
What’s new this year?
Customize your own Santa’s rocket sleigh, play a virtual snowball fight, explore interactive Northern Lights and more!
Ticket prices are $19.95 for children and $24.95 for adults.

2. The Nutcracker
Don’t miss out on Roswell Dance Theatre’s 31st annual performance of The Nutcracker! Starting November 29 and running for 14 consecutive days, you and your family can enjoy the ultimate holiday tradition of attending The Nutcracker.
The Nutcracker has something for the entire family. Performances include a dreamy walk through the Land of Snow, and a fantastic journey through the Land of Sweets. Perfect for all ages and a great way to spark the magic of this holiday season.

3. Sparkle Sandy Springs Holiday Parade and Lighting Event
Everyone loves a parade, right?! Don’t miss out on Sandy Springs Inaugural Holiday Parade that takes place on December 8th. Get there early can watch as all the festive holiday floats pass you by. This parade is free to attend and I highly recommend.
“It was on the wish list of the City’s founding Mayor Eva Galambos for the community to have its own parade. City Springs provides the perfect gathering spot for both spectators and to host the festive holiday village creating a magical holiday sparkle for everyone to enjoy,” said Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul.
If you love lights, you can’t miss Sparkle Sandy Springs, immediately following the parade! This is now one of the brightest events that you’ll find at Sandy Springs during the holidays, and rightfully so! Sandy Springs features a holiday village draped and decorated with lights that are quite a beautiful sight.
Grab a mug of hot cocoa and walk around to see all the magic and beauty!

Festivities begin at 4:00 p.m. and the parade will start at 5:30 p.m. near the Heritage water tower, marching along Mount Vernon, ending with the beautiful tree lighting at City Springs.
4. Holiday Inn
If you’re looking for a great way to spend the evening, don’t miss out on the performance of Holiday Inn, presented by City Springs Theatre Company. Based on the classic film, this holiday musical features exciting dance numbers, comedy, hit Irving Berlin songs, and even a bit of holiday romance as well. This performance is perfect for a date night or girls’ night out.
Running from December 13-21st on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Tickets start at $30 and are available now.

5. Snow Day Movie Matinee
On December 21st from 1 pm. to 4 p.m, you and your family can wear your jammies and join in on a festive Snow Day Movie Matinee hosted by the Sandy Springs Recreation and Parks Department.
The movie this year will be Frozen and the cost is FREE. There will even be a chance to meet some of the Frozen characters as well and plenty of snacks and hot chocolate will be available, too.
This event is perfect for all ages and a great way to make new friends!

6. Atlanta Symphony Orchestra New Year’s Eve Celebration
Spend New Year’s Eve December 31st, 2019 listening to the amazing sounds of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. It’s a great way to relax, be with the ones that you love and let the amazing sounds of this orchestra ring in the new year! Ticket prices start at $60 but sell out quickly so make certain to get yours early.
Enjoy a delicious Decadent Dessert package for only $20.20 that can be enjoyed during intermission or after the performance.
