I have raised two teenagers and have two daughters who will be driving soon. The thought of that is very scary for me! I have always been that concerned parent when my older two were driving, but the thoughts of my youngest two daughters driving are more concerning for me. There are so many more distractions, including technology in cars and cell phones, and I feel these distractions put our children in more danger than ever before.

National Teen Driver Safety Week is October 20-26, 2019

National Teen Driver Safety Week is October 20-26, 2019. It is important we provide our teens with the proper training and education before they are put behind the wheel of a vehicle. With this week being National Teen Driver Safety Week, it’s a great reminder to have these conversations, book the available courses and get your vehicle ready for all the varying weather conditions.

Did you know the car wrecks are the #1 leading cause of teen deaths? Hard to believe that teen driving poses a bigger risk to the lives of teens than other forms of injury or violence.

Educating your teen is one of the most important ways that you can ensure that your teen learns how to drive safely and appropriately from the moment they get behind the wheel.

Helping To Keep Teens Safe On The Road

Wondering if the education that you’ve provided your child about safe driving is enough, or even sticking with them? Why even take the chance? Street Survival was created specifically to provide your teen with the knowledge and education to be safe behind the wheel.

For one low, affordable rate, you can enroll your teen in the real world, hands-on driving education. In the enrolled course, your teen will learn all about vehicle safety, how to check their car’s tire pressures, oil levels, proper seating position and hand positions, mirror placement, etc.

With a hands-on approach, they learn how to react calmly to driving situations and the appropriate ways to stay safe on the road. The full day combines a mixture of classroom and in-car exercises.

One aspect of the Street Survival course that is really beneficial for your teen driver is that it helps teach and educate them on how to handle the different weather conditions when driving.

There are so many teens that drive in all varying types of weather, without understanding just how worrisome and dangerous the road conditions can truly be.

Does your teen know how to react if they hydroplane? Or if their tires suddenly lose traction on snow or ice? If not, enrolling them in Street Survival can help with that.

The student will be put through a collection of exercises based on real-world scenarios while driving their own car.

Tire care is important for teen driver safety

Educating your teen about the laws and rules to follow when driving is crucial, but it’s also important to make certain that they are driving a vehicle that is properly equipped as well. Different climates and states of where your teen is driving will vary in the type of tires that your vehicle should have. Luckily, the team at Tire Rack has you covered. Make certain to check out their options for tires based on the weather conditions in your area.
