Stone Mountain Christmas 2015

Stone Mountain Christmas 2015

I have lived in Atlanta my entire life and one of my favorite places to visit has always been Stone Mountain Park throughout the year. There is so much to see and do and the children love it! This year for the very first time we were given the opportunity to visit Stone Mountain Christmas during their media preview night. I felt very honored and excited to be able to take part of this experience ! I had no idea what to expect and I can honestly say Stone Mountain Park did such a wonderful job with delivering the magic and joy of the Holidays. This visit and experience is something my family and I will never forget! I look forward to going back every year!

First impressions when entering the park, it was decorated so beautifully. I felt like I was entering a magical winter wonderland lit up with over two million lights! My picture does not do its justice of the lustrous beauty.

The start of the evening began at the delicious Camp Fire Grill restaurant. As I would like to describe the restaurant and food, “home cooking at its finest”! The restaurant was very cozy and warm and the food was delicious, there was so much, and all so filling! We were served fried chicken, pulled pork, sausage, sausage & potatoes, mashed potatoes & gravy, french fries, mac & cheese, baked beans, and salad. Oh, and you can’t forget the amazingly buttery and sweet rolls. I couldn’t get enough of them!

After eating a delicious meal, we were greeted outside the restaurant by the Snow Angel and Mrs. Claus. The girls just lit up when they saw the beautiful and enchanting Snow Angel. Of course, pictures were a must!

We then headed over to the 4D Movie to watch the adorable animation of Ice Age A Mammoth Christmas. The 4D Movie Theater is always one of my favorite’s at Stone Mountain Park and the chosen clip was a perfect choice for the children to watch.

After the movie, we headed over to the candy shop where the girls had a chance to decorate their very own Christmas cookies to their liking! As you can see from their faces, they thoroughly enjoyed this and were anxious to eat those yummy cookies.

Of course, you can’t visit Stone Mountain Park Christmas without taking a ride on the Singalong Christmas Train around the mountain sing to some of your favorite childhood Christmas songs. We stopped to watch a beautiful story at the Pebble Ridge called “The Gift” . It was a little breezy that night so make sure you wear a jacket or coat.

From the train ride, the girls were begging us to visit with St. Nick. A Visit With Santa at Stone Mountain Christmas is known to be the top 10 places to visit in the country according to USA Today. The girls of course shared their Christmas wishes and momma took note!

After our visit with Santa, we went over to see the musical show Forever Christmas. My girls love musicals and this one was a hit. Then we went to see a new show at Stone Mountain Christmas – The Littlest Christmas Tree. It will touch your heart and your younger children will love the characters in it.

To wrap up the evenings, we saw the Snow Angel® Snowfall and Fireworks Finale The beautiful Snow Angel appears out of the sky and snow will fall right before your very eyes. The fireworks were truly amazing too. All the activities in the park were awesome but I think this was my favorite part of the night!

There were many other shows and activities and I could not mention then all. However, this is one holiday event in Atlanta that you definitely want to visit and make a tradition to come back every year.

To plan your Christmas experience at Stone Mountain Park, you can purchase your tickets ONLINE or at the door.
