South Main Kitchen in Alpharetta – Southern Cuisine With Familiar Comfort
Located North of Atlanta, Alpharetta is booming with swanky eateries. Guests love to mingle over delicious food and enjoy the atmosphere. The historic district of the city is the perfect destination for dining out, checking out the music scene and shopping. My Husband and I enjoyed a date night at South Main Kitchen – an Alpharetta favorite that’s been voted “Atlanta’s 10 Best Summer Bar & Restaurant Openings” by Thrillist. We were provided a gift card for this review, but all opinions are our own.
The Atmosphere at South Main Kitchen
South Main Kitchen is the perfect spot for a night out. You can relax, enjoy a few cocktails and socialize. It’s a local hot spot that residents love, especially with its rooftop bar. It’s located in a historic building from 1902 and features an open-kitchen. The wood grain and brick walls are inviting.
They offer indoor and outdoor seating options. Check online before your visit, for live music that’s offered during the Summer.
The Food at South Main Kitchen
Overall, the food is fresh and the flavor combinations are unique. Each plate was a medley of distinctive flavors and beautifully plated. They offer a Sunday brunch, lunch and dinner menu with entrees starting at $16.
Appetizers
I started with the Bacon & Bleu Salad that features levity farm greens. It was a light start to my meal that showcased their attention to ingredients.
Entrees
The dinner menu features steak, chicken, pork and fish entree options. It was hard to pick, but I went with the ‘NC Trout’ that’s topped with blistered carrot, fresh crab, salsa verde, and peanut. It had a delicious flavor and served just the way I like it.
My Husband went with the ‘W. Allgood Burger’ which offers a Southern twist since it’s topped with pimento cheese. The burger was extra juicy with the bear creek ground beef. I have to admit – I wanted a bite of his too. Everything looked so appetizing.
Dessert
The dessert menu features items for everyone’s sweet tooth – from savory to decadent. We shared the ‘Flourless Chocolate Cake’. It was a rich option but plated with a nice serving a Chai ice cream to complement the rich texture.
