Savannah Sixth Sense World Ghost Tours
Have you ever been on a Savannah ghost tour before? Do you believe in ghosts? It had been several years ago since my husband and I had been on a ghost tour. On our recent trip to Savannah, we had the chance to experience the 6th Sense World Ghost Tours. Like the title isn’t enough to creep you out. One of my family members did encounter a ghost on one of their recent visits to Savannah, so I can’t help to be a little freaked out. I have always been a scaredy-cat but fascinated with ghost stories at the same time. You don’t have to be a believer of ghosts to still enjoy a great ghost tour. If you love learning about the history as much as I do, then what better way to hear history told through ghost stories. Did you know Savannah is known to be one of a few of the most haunted cities in the United States? If that doesn’t creep you out enough.
First, Let Me Tell You About Our Tour Guide
Our tour guide, Patrick (aka John Patrick Burns), is more popular that I ever knew. By the way, he’s a really nice guy in person and gives AMAZING ghost tours. Outside of giving ghost tours at 6th Sense World Ghost Tours, he is one of the most well respected paranormal researchers around. He’ll share some spooky ghost stories, but he also really knows his stuff, which I loved hearing and learning about. I’m a big history buff, so this tour fit right in to my brain quite nicely. Listen closely though because Patrick has a lot to say!
Walking and Exploring (Because Ghost Hunting is Better Done on Foot)
There are a ton of various ghost tours offered in Savannah, but the walking tours top them all ! You come face to face with some historical landmarks and houses and maybe a few ghost encounters. You never know. You will learn a ton about Savannah and about some of the most haunted places in the area. Patrick will even attempt to record spirit voices…shudder! That particular night, we actually did hear some spirit voices in his digital voice recorder. Yes there are actually such devices! I had to look it up too.
Pick Which Tour You Want to Go On
- Savannah Tours with Patrick Burns- The Savannah Ghost Tour with Patrick is the one that I went on. Trust me, Patrick knows a ton about the ghosts of Savannah and he made our experience unforgettable.
- Sixth Sense Savannah Ghost Tour- This particular tour has been around since 1995! This is a favorite walking tour because all of the juicy ghost stories are told.
You can also go on either of these ghost tours with 6th Sense Ghost Tours
- Bonaveture Cemetery Tour
- America’s Most Haunted City Tour
- The Original Midnight Tour
After visiting Savannah, I feel like our trip was complete with this tour. Not only did I learn so much more about Savannah’s history, I just learned a lot in general. You’ll also notice that 6th Sense Tours are top rated. People LOVE their stories and you’ll see why once you get in there and start listening. Their stories are surreal and not something you’ll soon forget.
Mom’s Final Thoughts:
We did not take our kids on this tour. I am not sure my younger girls could handle it. However if you have children who can, prepare them to be scared! This ghost tour is unique because you do lots of walking so you definitely will want to bring your walking shoes. Our tour was at 8:00 PM and lasted about 2 1/2 hrs so if that is too late for you then you may want to consider their Bonaventure Cemetery Tour which is during the day.
Location:
2 Hour Walking Tour – Meets @ Bonaventure Cemetery (330 Bonaventure Rd., 31404)

Price:
The cost of most of the tours are $30 for adults and $15 for kids. Advanced reservations are required.

When my hubby and I were down there last summer we did 7 ghost tours in 3 nights. This was one of them and we really enjoyed it.

You are braver than I! I get freaked out too easily to do this! I will admit I am intrigued but I would run screaming and that would just be embarrassing! LOL

What a fun experience to have. Savannah is gorgeous any time of day, but definitely has that spooky feel at night.
