Rivers of Light at Disney’s Animal Kingdom #DisneySMMC
Rivers of Light. It’s a name, and it’s an experience. As part of my recent trip to the 2017 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration, I got to take in this beautiful new experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom for myself, and it was miraculous. Rivers of Light is one of those attractions that carries you into a purely magical place from the first sight and sound, and it keeps you there, firmly held in its pixie dust grasp until the very end. My photos do not serve its justice for how beautiful the show really is. Don’t forget to watch my video at the end!
Rivers of Light – A Fully Immersive Sensory Experience
The procession is on the lagoon located near Asia, DinoLand, and Discovery Island, and it is absolutely amazing. Rivers of Light is more than the sum of its parts. It’s 15 minutes of color changing floats, fountains, and more. The beauty of nature abounds in this wonderful spectacular. Color-changing float make their way down the waterway, while beautiful music plays in the background. The lights and sounds are accentuated by fountains, water screens, and of course, the sounds of spectators like me oohing and ahhing over the whole thing.
And the floats! The floats are my favorite part. Some of them are Asian themed boats with lighted hulls and sails. Others look like giant stained glass animals come to life. There are some that even look like giant lotus flowers! And each and every one of them feature ever-changing colors and beautiful water spectacles that boggle the senses. I cannot say enough about the beauty of Rivers of Light.
I and my fellow bloggers were able to enjoy the beauty of this event between the Serka Zong Marketplace and the Discovery River shoreline, two villages located on either side of the river.
Rivers of Light Expects Rivers of Traffic
Rivers of Light officially debuted February 17th, 2017 and Disney expects it to be a big draw. I happen to agree! That’s why I’d advise anyone who wants to take in this spectacular show to get FastPass+ so they can be sure they are able to see it. In my opinion, Rivers of Light is a must see and a reason to go to Disney all on its own!
Disclosure: I received an invite to attend 2017 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration Land & Sea. I did pay a fee to attend the celebration but received a discount on accommodations, tickets, and cruise. All opinions are 100% my own.
