Avalon on Ice in Alpharetta – Experience the Best Outdoor Ice Skating Rink
Tis’ the season to lace up your skates and glide into the holiday spirit at Avalon on Ice in Alpharetta. Their monumental Rockefeller-inspired ice skating rink is open from November through January.
Tickets were provided to us complimentary for this review, but as always our opinions are our own.
Our family has been counting down the days until exams were over and the holiday break would finally begin! We didn’t waste any time getting into the holiday spirit as we spent the day at Avalon on Ice in Alpharetta. The Rockefeller inspired rink lies right in the center courtyard of Avalon surrounded by twinkling lights, Christmas decorations, and a beautiful fountain.
We arrived as soon as they opened so my kids were the first ones on the ice for the day! My 11, 14, and 16-year-olds had a ball skating on the freshly groomed ice while my three-year-old and I observed from the sidelines. Actually, my three-year-old ran around and danced to the festive Christmas music while I smiled watching all my kids get along and have fun ice-skating together.
There is plenty of seating around the rink for onlookers and the kids were able to store their shoes on shelves under the covered area near the ticket booth. The admission is not timed so you can skate as long as you want but my kids worked up an appetite after about an hour. We headed to Antico for a pizza and finished up some last minute Christmas shopping.
It was the perfect way to kick off the break as a family.
Open through January 21st. To purchase tickets online, please click here.
