A Wrinkle In Time | Be A Warrior: Disney Movie Review
I had the opportunity to watch A Wrinkle In Time this week and I am excited to share with you that it is now playing in theaters March 9, 2018! The 1962 novel was a favorite of mine as a child, and Disney has done a fantastic job modernizing the story into this fabulous movie with a great message for our children!
Synopsis of A Wrinkle In Time
From visionary director Ava DuVernay comes Disney’s “A Wrinkle in Time,” an epic adventure based on Madeleine L’Engle’s timeless classic which takes audiences across dimensions of time and space, examining the nature of darkness versus light and, ultimately, the triumph of love. Through one girl’s transformative journey led by three celestial guides, we discover that strength comes from embracing one’s individuality and that the best way to triumph over fear is to travel by one’s own light.
Characters of A Wrinkle In Time Movie
Storm Reid is Meg Murry in Disney’s A WRINKLE IN TIME.
Mindy Kaling is Mrs Who in Disney’s A WRINKLE IN TIME.
Wrinkle In Time Movie: Age Appropriateness
Is this movie appropriate for your child? It really depends on the maturity of your child. There are some scenes in the movie where the dark and light or good vs. evil is depicted. You might could have your child close their eyes during these short scenes, but they are not that bad. Perhaps for a child of maybe five or six, I would maybe caution if they are too sensitive. I do love the fact that the movie does teach several messages throughout about self esteem, building courage, bullying, and overcoming evil. There are even a few moments where I teared up. I won’t spoil the movie for you but in my opinion, this is a great movie for families with tweens and teens.
